Interventions

BAEC is available to conduct or help plan interventions with a problem drinker or user.

Often one or two sessions are all that is necessary to assess a family's readiness to confront someone who has a problem, and prepare those involved to conduct the intervention at the best time and place. The family learns what is happening to the user, why they have a problem, rehearses doing the actual intervention, becomes prepared for typical responses by the user and learns what resources are available to help the user.

Continuing support and counseling are available to the family after the intervention, as well as treatment for the user. Interventions may take place at BAEC's offices or another location of the family's choosing. Interventions are powerful and very successful when correctly prepared for and conducted.
